An exciting opportunity presented itself to refurbish 285 hotel bedrooms which boast some of the finest views along the West Coast in Cape Town.
With a clear brief and extremely tight budget and time constraints, we worked on extending the theme of the hotel with a neutral canvass of warm greys, whites, pearls, taupe and shades of blue.
As always, the challenge when working in the hospitality industry is coordinating the timing of the allocated rooms that are being refurbished around your guests bookings. Since this is pivotal to a successful roll out, we worked meticulously with the management and suppliers to achieve this, given that this 4 star hotel usually runs at full occupancy.
Respecting the budget constraints and carbon footprint, we chose to re-invent some of the existing oak cabinetry and furniture. Using a combination of soft grey and taupe stains contrasting with flat white, a wonderful opportunity was created to re-invest in most of the existing pieces and to give them an entirely new ‘personality’.
We designed an integrated luggage rack and the flat panelled Wall mounted TV units were to be as unobtrusive as possible.
The shades of all the fabrics were carefully woven into the themed artwork and selected pieces in the bedrooms with accent walls and wallcoverings in certain suites allowing us a little touch of glamour!
